This original painting in oils depicts an early morning sky over a bay on the east coast of Ireland. The rose colour which often appears in the sky at dawn is hard to capture on camera and quickly disappears from the sky as it turns to a yellow tone and then a greenish blue. The soft and dusky colour is contrasted by the dark violet tones in the clouds. It is painted using blending techniques associated with Alla Prima painting and features a medium matte texture. No white spirits or turpentine are used in this painting and an environmentally friendly brush cleaner is used. Dimensions: (76cm x 61cm). The canvas has a deep edge, ideal for leaving unframed as the sides are also painted.
